Oxley Wins Speedway Scratch Main Event

Brad Oxley of San Juan Capistrano won the four-lap scratch main event in front of 4,806 in the weekly speedway motorcycle program Friday at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa.

Bobby Schwartz of Costa Mesa was second and Ed Castro of Ojai was third, followed Shawn McConnell of Brea and Robert Pfetzing of La Habra.

Don Odom won the eight-lap handicap main event. Jesse Finch of Orange was second. Pfetzing was third, Shawn McConnell was fourth and Schwartz was fifth.
