Women Execs at Nonprofits Earn Less: Not many women reach the top position in U.S. nonprofit organizations, and those who do make less money than their male counterparts, a survey has found. The median salary of such chief executives was $188,686 last year, according to the survey conducted by the Washington-based Chronicle of Philanthropy. But for women, who made up about 16% of the CEOs, it was $163,100, compared with $192,125 for men. The largest raise went to Susan Corrigan of Gifts in Kind International in Alexandria, Va. Her salary jumped 36% to $128,015. Topping the earnings list was John W. Rowe, who made $921,219 as president of Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York.
