Subdivision Plan Gets Final OK

A plan to convert the former Trautman Ranch in the 9700 block of Walker Street into a new subdivision has won final approval from the City Council.
The 1.38-acre tract was formerly the homestead of the Trautman family. The land also includes two structures used in the late 1950s and early 1960s as the Cypress City Hall and Police Department.
Mahendra Desai of C&A; Walker Houses Inc., which now owns the property, has said that all buildings on the site are to be razed. Desai said 12 houses are to be built, as well as an entry off Walker Street.
Work on the new houses will begin this fall, Desai said, and they will be up for sale in early 1997.
