Warner-Lambert, Sankyo in Diabetes Drug Venture: The Morris Plains, N.J.-based pharmaceutical and consumer products company said it plans to establish the joint venture with the Japanese firm to co-promote the drug. Sankyo/Parke-Davis will be equally owned by both companies, and profit and expenses will also be shared equally, the companies said. Under the agreement, Warner-Lambert Co. will co-promote troglitazone, which was developed by Sankyo, and other Sankyo products it plans to market in the U.S. Warner-Lambert will also gain marketing privileges for the treatment in some international markets. Tokyo-based Sankyo is Japan’s second-largest pharmaceutical company. Warner-Lambert markets products such as Listerine mouthwash.
