Genetics Institute Forms Drug Partnerships: The Cambridge, Mass.-based company said it formed the partnerships with Emeryville, Calif.-based Chiron Corp. and South San Francisco-based Genentech Inc., giving them access to its gene library and providing them with proteins that could be used to discover new drugs. Financial terms weren’t disclosed. If the partners succeed in discovering a drug, Genetics Institute has an option to co-develop and co-market the medication and share equally in any profits.
