Bank Approves U.S. Aircraft Sales to China: The U.S. Export-Import Bank approved $495 million in loan guarantees to Boeing Co. and McDonnell Douglas Corp. to supply a total of seven commercial aircraft to two Chinese airlines, Commerce Secretary Mickey Kantor said. The financing of the previously announced aircraft orders was announced at the end of two days of talks between China’s Trade Minister Madame Wu Yi and Kantor under the Joint Commission on Commerce and Trade, a bilateral group set up in the early 1980s to improve commercial ties.
