Holiday Inn President Resigns: Timothy Lane, who was named chairman and chief executive less than seven months ago, left the hotel chain following a dispute with parent company Bass. Lane, a former restaurant executive, resigned at a board meeting of Atlanta-based Holiday Inn Worldwide in the presence of Bass executives, according to company spokesman Craig Smith. “There was a difference of opinion in the way the business has been managed,” said Smith, who would not provide further details. Holiday Inn Chairman Bryan Langton, who was to retire in early December, will assume Lane’s duties and remain with the company until a successor is chosen.
