The Champagne house of Veuve Clicquot and the downtown Los Angeles restaurant Water Grill join forces Tuesday for an evening of wine and seafood. Executive chef Allyson Thurber and pastry chef David James created the matches for the four-course meal.

On the menu: assorted shellfish with Veuve Clicquot Brut “Yellow Label”; grilled giant tiger prawns on lobster polenta with 1988 Brut “Gold Label”; John Dory on a wild mushroom ragout with foie gras and truffled potato chips with 1985 Brut Rose; warm maple-roasted pear tart, nutmeg ice cream and cranberry essence with Demi-Sec. 7 p.m. Water Grill, 544 S.
