From Times Staff and Wire Reports

A public health worker was fired for using a confidential list of people with AIDS and HIV to check out his dates in a scandal that has raised concerns about the security of government-compiled medical records. William Calvert is accused of taking computer disks containing about 4,000 names of patients to a gay bar and offering to look up names on the list for friends. Copies of the disk turned up weeks ago at two Tampa Bay area newspapers and the Pinellas County Health Department.
