6 Killed, 75 Hurt in Market Blast
A bomb ripped through an Algerian market crowded with people, killing at least six--including three children--and wounding 75 others, according to witnesses, officials and hospital sources. It was the second such bomb attack on a busy market ahead of Friday Muslim prayers in three weeks. The bomb went off in the heart of the market in Kolea, a hill town 20 miles southwest of the capital, Algiers. No one claimed responsibility for the bombs, but Islamists fighting to topple the government have been blamed for a series of bomb attacks in the last two years.
