Edgar Cummins, Norwick Goodspeed Join Biopsys Board
* Edgar J. Cummins and Norwick B.H. Goodspeed have joined the board of Biopsys Medical Inc. in Irvine, bringing the number of directors to seven. Cummins is senior vice president and chief financial officer of Chiron Vision, an ophthalmic devices company. Goodspeed is president and chief executive of McGaw Inc., a supplier of therapy products to home care providers. in the U.S. In addition, Luis J. Berga was named vice president of manufacturing, and Scott W. Tremberth was appointed vice president of sales. Berga was formerly vice president of manufacturing for Minnetech Corp., a medical device company. Tremberth joined Biopsys last year as director of sales. Biopsys Medical, Inc. is a developer, manufacturer and marketer of products for the diagnosis and management of breast cancer.
* Roger Elyea has been named vice president of domestic sales and marketing for I-Flow Corp., an Irvine designer and developer of ambulatory infusion systems. He had been director of marketing. Before joining I-Flow in August, Elyea was a vice president for Vital Signs Inc., a New Jersey developer of products for the anesthesia and respiratory care markets.
* James Valle has been appointed chief financial officer and vice president of StarTronix International Inc. in Irvine, which markets Internet-related products and services. He succeeds Dick Hernander, who left the company. Valle was previously chief operating officer and chief financial officer of HLC-Internet.
* Raul Medrano has been named president of the Minority Business Council of Orange County for a two-year term. He is the head of R.J. Medrano & Associates, a business consulting firm specializing in small, minority and female enterprises.
* Yuri Khersonsky has been appointed to the new position of vice president, technology and business development for Power Systems Group in Anaheim. He was formerly director of engineering for the company.
* Margo A. Crummack has been named vice president responsible for sales and marketing activities at Keystone Pacific Property Management Inc., a Newport Beach property management firm. She joined the firm in 1988.
* Robert A. Huber has been named managing partner of Price Waterhouse’s Orange County office. He succeeds David M. Todd, who is relocating to Venezuela to help manage the firm’s cross-border filing practice in Caracas. Huber was most recently managing tax partner for the office and co-head of the technology practice. In addition, Harish Khanna has transferred to Orange County from the Woodland Hills office and will specialize in serving technology clients.
* Edwin C. Summers has joined First Alliance Corp., an Irvine consumer finance company, in the newly created position of vice president, general counsel and secretary. He was previously with Transamerica Corp., where he served as senior counsel, finance, and as senior vice president, general counsel and secretary of Transamerica Finance Group. Before that, he was associate general counsel and assistant secretary of Avery Dennison Corp. in Pasadena.
* Mark Edwards has been appointed vice president, sales and corporate marketing, for QLogic Corp. in Costa Mesa. Edwards was formerly vice president, sales and marketing for the Storage Systems division of Unisys Corp. in Mission Viejo. Larry Fortmuller has been named vice president and general manager of the Computer Systems Group. Fortmuller was previously vice president, Americas Marketing at AST Research Inc. in Irvine, In addition, David Tovey, who has been with QLogic since April 1994, has been appointed vice president and general manager of the Peripheral Products Group. Tovey had been vice president of marketing for the company.
* John Marconi has been elected president of the California Land Title Assn. for 1996-97. Marconi is founder and chief executive of Orange Coast Title Co. in Santa Ana.
* Jim Hoffman has been named regional vice president of Brea-based Earle M. Jorgensen Co.’s eastern region. He has been with the company since 1991, as sales manager and district manager of the Cleveland facility. Also, Lorraine Lopez has been appointed plan administration manager for the corporate operation. She joined the company in 1984 and was previously planning administrator. Earle M. Jorgensen Co. is a metals distributor.
* Lynn Howes has been appointed vice president of marketing for Jill Lloyd and Associates, a Costa Mesa media relations and marketing firm. She had been sponsorship and community promotions coordinator.
