Realtors Convention to Focus on the Internet

The 100,000-member California Assn. of Realtors (CAR) will hold its three-day annual convention Oct. 23-25 in San Diego and focus on panel discussions and workshops on the Internet and Realtor, the future of the brokerage industry, California economic trends and legal issues affecting real estate.

In addition, CAR’s chief economist, Leslie Appleton-Young, will present her 1997 California housing market forecast.

Besides the educational workshops, some 115 exhibitors will display an array of real estate-related products and services, including software and other high-tech products.

Conference attendees will also be able to evaluate the four largest Internet sites that contain property listings:

California Living Network, operated by CAR; Cyberhomes, a service of Moore Data Management; HomeSeekers, a service of NDS Software Inc.; and the Realtors Information Network, operated by the National Assn. of Realtors.
