Sealy Upbeat About Team, Film Futures

Guard Malik Sealy, who earned good reviews for his role as an arrogant, self-centered basketball player in “Eddie,” may have a career as an actor when he retires.

“It was fun,” Sealy said of the movie. “The best thing about it was that I got to work out with all the guys that were in it. I got some good workouts in.”

Center Dwayne Schintzius, who played a Russian basketball player whose command of English was limited to “Ivan make basket,” signed with the Clippers as a free agent last month.

“It might be cosmic,” Sealy said. “Whoopi [Goldberg] might become the coach next too, you never know.”

Sealy, who has sat out 42 games over the last two seasons because of injuries, hopes to play a full season.

“The main thing is staying healthy,” Sealy said. “If we can do that we’ll be OK.”
