Irvine Firms to Plan Homes at Air Base

On the commercial front:

* A pair of Irvine architecture and planning firms have landed a big piece of the job to convert the 60,000-acre Clark Air Force Base in the Philippines to public use. JBZ Dorius Architecture and Planning and Tellus, a partnership it formed with Irvine land planning consultant Hogal-Ireland Inc., will be responsible for planning and designing the residential portion of the project, which calls for 9,000 homes and apartments on 900 acres of the air base.

* Stadium Plaza Tower, near Anaheim Stadium, has signed San Diego-based digital communications company NextWave Telecom Inc. to a 10-year lease for 71,000 square feet of space for a new regional office. The lease is valued at $15 million. Commercial brokerage Julian J. Studley Inc.’s Los Angeles office represented NextWave.

* Brokers at Voit Commercial Brokerage’s Anaheim office completed five major sales in August with an aggregate value of $12.5 million. The sales involved properties in Anaheim, Buena Park, Fullerton and Yorba Linda.

* Orange-based apartment management company Jupiter Western National has expanded into Texas with contracts to operate seven complexes with a total of 1,779 units in Dallas, Houston and San Antonio. The company now manages more than 37,700 apartments across the U.S. and is the 14th largest multifamily property manager in the nation.
