Former Kiwi Chief Makes Bid for Airline’s Assets: Robert Iverson, the former chief executive of Kiwi Air Lines International Inc., said he submitted a bid for the main operations of the bankrupt airline. Iverson said the bid was for “a small group of the airline’s assets and just the part of the airline that allows you to operate.” The cash-strapped airline suspended operations Tuesday. He said the offer was well below $25 million. The Newark, N.J.-based carrier will probably accept his offer, Iverson said, “given how desperate Kiwi is after yesterday.” Iverson, who was ousted from Kiwi in February 1995, declined to identify his financial backers.
