KEEP ON TRUCKIN’

Share

In our driveway sits a 1972 Ford Ranchero 500 (“All-American, All the Way,” by John Balzar, Sept. 15). OK, so it’s not a full-size truck, but it’s been driven as though it were. With almost 350,000 miles on it, and a history of having hauled load after load, our truck has earned its honored place alongside all those other trucks.

I love my old truck, and as long as my husband can keep it mechanically sound, I’ll keep on truckin’.

Balzar’s article on pickup trucks was a great piece with a bunch of interesting statistics, but please don’t try to confuse your readers by picturing a Chevrolet truck with “the California look” and calling it a Ford.

If you need a photograph of a Ford with the California look, my ’97 F-150, with “flames” and all the other goodies, is at your disposal.

Editor’s note: The show at which the truck in question was photographed was a Ford-only event sponsored by Ford. Perhaps security was provided by Chevy.
