Platinum Software Corp.: The Irvine financial software company said it narrowed its net loss for the fiscal first quarter to $2.1 million, or 11 cents a share, from $4.5 million, or 32 cents a share, for the same period last year. Revenue for the quarter ended Sept. 30 declined 13% to $10.9 million from $12.6 million.
