Philanthropists, Volunteers Recognized

The National Society of Fund Raising Executives--Santa Barbara / Ventura Counties Chapter held an awards luncheon in Camarillo on Friday to celebrate National Philanthropy Day.

Held at Spanish Hills Country Club, festivities included the announcement of the following award recipients:

* Philanthropist of the Year Award for Ventura County--Amgen Foundation.

* Philanthropist of the Year Award for Santa Barbara County--Towbes Foundation.

* Volunteer of the Year Award for Ventura County--John Newman of Westlake Village.

* Volunteer of the Year Award for Santa Barbara County--Dr. Peter MacDougall of Santa Barbara.

* Professional Fund Raiser of the Year (Santa Barbara and Ventura counties)--Harriett Hartt of Santa Barbara.

The annual National Philanthropy Day--celebrated in more than 100 cities--was established in 1986 by leaders of nonprofit groups across the U.S.
