Shaquille O’Neal, having played in the 1994 World Championships in Toronto and the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, said he has retired from international competition.

“I’m done with that,” the 24-year-old Laker said. “I have all those accolades. It’s time for me to win on this level. No more Olympics, no more Junior Olympics.”

The decision to activate Jerome Kersey on Sunday meant another reserve small forward, Trevor Wilson, will stay on the injured list indefinitely.

“I would like to play now,” said Wilson, out since the final days of the exhibition season because of tendinitis in his left knee. “But I think it would be better to be 100% or as close to 100% as possible. My whole career, I’ve been filing roles. I’ve accepted my role here and I’m willing to fill it.”
