Guerrillas Release Briton and His Aide

Khmer Rouge guerrillas have freed a British mine-clearing expert and his Cambodian interpreter nearly eight months after they were seized near the Angkor temple complex. Christopher Howes, 36, of Bristol, England, and Houn Hourth were described as “weak and very thin.” They were freed as part of a deal allowing guerrillas to defect to the government, an official said.
