From Times Wire Reports

A group of 272 Haitians feared dead after they fled toward Florida in a leaky sailboat nearly three weeks ago landed safely in Cuba, an international agency says. The Cuban Red Cross has been taking care of the Haitians since their landing in eastern Cuba on Nov. 6, said Lucas Dall’ojlio, director of the International Organization of Migration mission in Haiti. The U.S. Coast Guard reported that 279 Haitian migrants had landed in Cuba. There was no immediate explanation for the discrepancy between the numbers.
