Officers Favored at PX, Probe Finds

A military investigation into management of the Navy’s giant PX shopping mall in Norfolk, Va., has found a pattern of inappropriate discounts and other preferential treatment given senior officers and their spouses over several years. The report documented special deals, involving savings of up to 25%, extended to officers for such items as jewelry, alcoholic beverages, Christmas trees and crystal.
