Coors Brewing Co. recently donated a beer-brewing laboratory to Johnson & Wales University in Rhode Island. The lab, which is designed to look exactly like a brew pub, is the only place in the country where students planning to go into the hospitality industry take a nine-day unit on beer with hands-on experience in brewing. The lab makes 15 gallons per batch, but the product is not sold.

So what happens to it? “I wish I could say we have a raging kegger,” says culinary admissions officer Brandon Crosby. “Actually, the students just taste it and then it’s thrown away.”
