Plane Crashes in Siberia; 23 Killed

A military cargo plane crashed in central Siberia, killing all 23 people aboard. Emergency workers found the bodies of all but one of the victims. The Russian Ilyushin-76 slammed into a snow-covered mountain and exploded seven minutes after taking off from Abakan, 2,500 miles east of Moscow. The reason for the crash was not yet known. The plane was carrying 30 tons of commercial cargo and may have been overloaded, the Itar-Tass news agency reported.
