Photo Captured Emotional Moment

Share

That’s quite a photograph you have of the boating accident on the front page Nov. 18.

It’s got emotional content, of course--the young woman caught up in a tragedy she’ll never forget, ironically next to a story about a new drug developed to improve memory.

But the photograph is remarkable; it’s almost like a painting in its composition. Strong verticals, strong horizontals, and those eye-catching diagonals of the woman’s arms and clasped hands, and the officer’s elbow leading down to the victim on the stretcher. It’s quite a moment. In a world of digital enhancement, I’d almost suspect a little doctoring, except for the time constraints you had.

So I guess it’s all because of some clear-eyed photographer. Keep it up.
