From Times Wire Reports

Mother Teresa sat up in a chair, sipped tea and asked to go home a day after undergoing angioplasty. After sleeping well overnight, the 86-year-old Catholic nun was alert and smiling, said A.K. Chatterjee, a spokesman for the B.M. Birla Heart Research Center in Calcutta. Mother Teresa’s heart began to improve immediately after Friday’s two-hour procedure to clear two blocked arteries, according to doctors. The Nobel laureate was weak but in stable condition and was expected to remain in the hospital several more days. She told doctors she was feeling “absolutely fine,” Chatterjee said.
