Strip Club

Re your Nov. 23 article, “Strip Club Defies City, Open Doors”:

I sympathize with the outraged residents of Lincoln Heights, with their concern regarding nude dancing in their neighborhood. I would not want a strip club in my neighborhood.

However, I completely disagree with Esther Rodarte’s statement, “We’re fighting liquor licenses, we’re fighting drugs, we’re fighting gangs.” This is unfounded, placing liquor, drugs and gangs all in the same sentence. I am a food and beverage manager in a bar and grill in Inglewood. I do not allow gangs or drug activity on our block or in our business. However, this takes an effort not by government alone but by business owners and residents.

There are legitimate liquor license holders out there. Conversely, club owner Kevin Wasko has a moral duty to keep the neighborhood free of illegal activity.
