Laker update--It’s a big week for the Lakers, with tonight’s game against Seattle and Wednesday’s at Utah. Those teams are a combined 27-6. Then there’s a Friday meeting with the Orlando Magic that will have national interest when Shaquille O’Neal faces his former team for the first time. The eight assists by O’Neal against the Denver Nuggets on Sunday tied a personal best. He also had 24 points and 16 rebounds.
SuperSonic update--The impressive record gains some perspective when considering they have had only three real tests and lost two of them, both to Utah. They have played only one other opponent that’s a threat to make the conference finals, New York. George Karl needs one more victory to become the 27th coach in NBA history with 400 victories.
