South County Jail Not Fair

Share

* Your Nov. 17 editorial “Vote Was Clear, but Jail Space Remains a Problem in O.C.” shows that many of the supervisors don’t care about people’s views or concerns, but decide things the way they want it to be.

I don’t think it is fair that South County should get stuck with a jail. No one wants a jail, but we still might get one. I don’t think a jail will help solve the crime problem. Drug addicts need to be rehabilitated, because that’s what a lot of people are in jail for. It would be cheaper to help the drug addicts in a secure facility than to build a jail. If a jail must be built, it should be next to the courthouse in Santa Ana. That way prisoners would not have to be transported through peoples’ neighborhoods.
