Harlan Huebner; Ex-President of Glendale Symphony

Harlan Pierce Huebner, a patent attorney who served as president of the Glendale Symphony Assn., has died. He was 69.

Huebner, died Thursday in Glendale of cancer.

He chaired the symphony’s support group in the mid-1980s when the orchestra was searching for a replacement for its musical leader, Carmen Dragon.

The attorney, co-founder of the Huebner & Rosa law firm, also served as a trustee of the National Charity League’s Glendale chapter and was on the board of the Glendale Memorial Hospital Comprehensive Cancer Foundation. He was grand orator of the Masonic Lodge of California and Hawaii and was an honorary member of the Los Angeles Rotary Club.

A native of Los Angeles, Huebner was educated at Glendale College, USC and Southwestern University School of Law. He served as a lieutenant in the Army Reserve.

Huebner is survived by his wife of 44 years, Joan; three daughters, Jo-Ellan Dimitrius, Loring Guessous and Libby Huebner; and seven grandchildren.

A memorial service is scheduled for Friday at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, 700 Glenoaks Blvd., Burbank. The family has asked that any memorial donations be made to the Glendale Memorial Health Foundation Cancer Center, 1420 S. Central Ave., Glendale, CA 91204, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
