Orange-Based Vans Hires Marketing Executive
* Jay E. Wilson has joined Vans Inc., an Orange footwear and apparel maker, as vice president of marketing. He was formerly a marketing consultant for Dark Horse Distribution, whose product lines included Grind King skateboard trucks, Haz Mat snowboards, Underdog Shoes, Society Skateboards and Belladonna women’s wear. Prior to that, Wilson was a managing partner and marketing director at Brand Building Communications in Beverly Hills.
* Dennis J. Gilmore has been named regional vice president of First American Title Insurance Co. in Santa Ana. He will oversee the title insurance sales and product delivery systems for major lenders, as well as the coordination and expansion of the First American Lenders Advantage concept throughout the country. Gilmore joined First American in 1994 after serving as senior vice president in charge of loan servicing for Western Federal Savings in Marina del Rey.
* E. Lynn Caswell has been elected to the board of directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco for a three-year term beginning Jan. 1. Caswell is president, chief executive and chairman of Monarch Bank and vice chairman of Monarch Bancorp in Laguna Niguel.
* James W. Casparie has been elected chairman of the Forum for Corporate Directors, a nonprofit professional organization for directors of public and private companies on the West Coast. Casparie is a management consultant in Anaheim.
* Jay L. Witzling has been appointed division director, Delta II and Titan programs for McDonnell Douglas Space & Defense Systems in Huntington Beach. He will oversee all facets of management of the company’s former Space Transportation division. Witzling’s 24-year career at McDonnell Douglas has included 17 years in design and mission integration, with additional experience in program management. Prior to his current position, he was deputy director and then director of NASA and Commercial Delta programs.
* John M. Faiman has joined Simple Technology Inc. in Santa Ana as vice president of sales for the company’s memory, portable storage and PC Card communication products. Faiman was most recently vice president of sales with AmeriQuest Technologies Inc., formerly National Computer Distributors. He has also held management positions with Tech Data, Arrow Electronics, BPI Systems and Canon U.S.A.
* Tim Busald and Gail Cederoth have been named vice presidents of Rusty Pelican Restaurants Inc. in Irvine. Busald, former director of operations and purchasing, has been named vice president of operations and purchasing. Cederoth, who had been director of operations, is now vice president of operations, design and training. She will manage the development of the Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. concept, supervise the design and remodeling of Rusty Pelican restaurants, and oversee management development and training.
* Mike Anderson has joined Bates USA West in Irvine as senior vice president, associate creative director. He will work on the Hyundai Motor America business. Anderson was previously vice president, associate creative director at Foot Cone & Belding/Los Angeles and Orange County.
