A long-haired man with a mustache robbed a Camarillo bank Monday afternoon, the county’s 50th bank robbery so far this year.

The suspect, described by witnesses as 6 feet tall and weighing about 180 pounds, walked into the Bank of America at 5800 Santa Rosa Road about 2:50 p.m. He passed a note to the teller demanding money, said Supervising Agent Gary Auer in the Ventura office of the FBI.

The note stated that he had a weapon, although he did not show one to the teller, Auer said.

The teller handed over the money and the man escaped on foot, Auer said. Agents do not believe the man, who was wearing a long-sleeve beige sweater, has robbed any banks in Ventura County before.
