Seniors worried about higher auto insurance premiums might be able to lower the costs under a special driver training course being offered in January.
Those 50 and older can take driving refresher courses from the American Assn. of Retired Persons at centers throughout much of Orange County.
Upon completion of the eight-hour course, students receive a Department of Motor Vehicles certificate, which may help students qualify for an auto insurance discount.
The fee for the two-day course is $8 per person. Students must call to register for the classes. Here are the class locations, dates, times and phone numbers:
