Minor League Team Moves Into New Digs

After a final trip to its former ballpark in Long Beach to pick up bats, balls and other tools of the trade, the minor league Riptide team moved Thursday into new offices at the World Cup Soccer Center.

The club will use the former U.S. soccer team offices at Oso Viejo Park to prepare for the upcoming season, which starts May 23, and will play their games at a renovated Saddleback College field.

Mission Viejo is considering a plan to build a $6-million ballpark at Saddleback College that would be a permanent home for the team.
