Sheriff’s Station Gets a Neon Star

A blue-and-yellow neon sign in the shape of a star is the artsy emblem that West Hollywood officials have chosen to call attention to the city’s sheriff’s station.
City officials unveiled the sign, which spells out the word “sheriff,” after it was mounted on a pole last week outside the sheriff’s station at San Vicente and Santa Monica boulevards.
Trish Sutherland, the city’s spokeswoman, said the sign, which is turned on at dusk, is in keeping with the city’s informal goal to become known as the “Creative City.”
