District to Present Health-Care Awards

The Camarillo Health Care District will present the Apple of Excellence in Health Care Awards on Thursday at Los Posas Country Club.
The district began commending health-care professionals for service to their community last year.
The awards will be presented in eight categories to the following recipients:
* Physician and Surgeon: James Carlson, MD.
* Medical Professional: Garrett Toy, DDS.
* Mental Health Professional: Carole Wadsworth, MA, MFCC.
* Nurse Professional: Sister Carmelita Padilla, RN.
* Ancillary Health Provider: Doug Martin, BS, PharmD.
* Support Staff: Susan Shealy, Health Technician.
* Health Service Organization: St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital Auxiliary.
* Outstanding Volunteer: Willis Naysmith.
The awards ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. The country club is at 955 Fairway Drive. Cost is $30 per person. Call 388-1952 for reservations.
