Mideast Negotiations
* In Geoffrey Aronson’s commentary on Jan. 27, his use of language reveals a lack of objectivity: Palestinians “can force a better agreement.” They find “opportunities to exploit for Palestinian advantage.” Arafat is noted for his “whining.” It was a better world when Arafat was portrayed by the press as “a supplicant” and more problematic when he is shown to be “a wily negotiator capable of outsmarting Netanyahu.” Am I being picky or does Aronson have a problem?
