Thelma Schnee Moss, 79, writer and psychology professor at UCLA who studied the paranormal. A graduate of Carnegie Tech, Moss began her varied career as an actress. She was a founding member of the Actors Studio in New York and appeared on Broadway in “The Seagull” and “The Corn Is Green.” She next wrote screenplays and television scripts including segments of the series “Route 66” and “One Step Beyond.” After prescribed treatment with the controversial drug LSD, she wrote a best-selling book about the experience, “Myself and I.” After obtaining a doctorate in psychology at UCLA, Moss taught medical psychology there from 1966 to 1979. In 1976, she received the Douglass Dean award from the United Nations for introducing the Soviets’ Kirlian photography of the human aura to the United States. Her research into the paranormal earned her widespread publicity and resulted in two books, “The Probability of the Impossible” and “The Body Electric.” Moss was a consultant on several motion pictures, including “The Exorcist,” “Poltergeist” and “Ghost.” On Saturday in Los Angeles.
