Miss Hawaii Is Crowned Miss USA

Miss Hawaii, Brook Lee, was crowned the new Miss USA Wednesday night.

Lee succeeds Ali Landry. The title comes with more than $170,000 in cash and prizes, as well as a chance to compete in the Miss Universe pageant in May.

Brandi Sherwood, Miss Idaho, was the first runner-up, earning a $4,000 prize, and Miss Tennessee, Towanna Stone, was the second runner-up, winning $2,000.

Marla Maples Trump joined actor George Hamilton as co-host of the annual spectacle, which is co-owned by her husband, Donald Trump, and CBS. The judges included race car driver Michael Andretti, sports announcer Greg Gumbel, NFL kicker Nick Lowery and model Gayle Gurchick.

The top 10 finalists also included Miss Utah, Temple Taggart; Miss Florida, Angelia Savage; Miss Texas, Amanda Little; Miss Rhode Island, Claudia Jordan; Miss Alabama, Autumn Smith; Miss Oklahoma, Trisha Stillwell; and Miss New Jersey, Jennifer Makris.

Contestants were judged on interviews, a swimsuit competition and an evening-gown competition.
