29% of O.C. Companies Plan to Add to Staffs

Share

A new survey finds that 29% of the companies in Orange County plan to add to their staffs in the second quarter, with manufacturers and wholesale and retail trade firms leading the pack. That compares with 21% that said they intended hiring at the start of the second quarter last year.

The survey is part of a national poll conducted each quarter by Manpower Inc.

Sue Foigelman, Manpower regional director in Irvine, said Orange County corporations should lead the state in hiring. Surveys in other major employment areas of California show that only 21% of companies statewide plan to add to their staffs in the three months from April through June.
