Crew Members Killed

* Why is it that when some disgrace occurs within the military it is plastered all over the first few pages of the paper, but when three Coast Guardsmen lose their lives in the performance of their duties, the story is buried with a few lines on page A16 (“Coast Guard Vessel Capsizes in Rescue,” Feb. 13)?

I guess in this day and age of sensationalism, true heroism is not as important as an ugly scandal. God bless the men and women of the Coast Guard, who stand by to protect the lives of all who go to sea. CHARLES A. KIRCHER
