About 300 workers at the former Anchor Glass Container Corp. will lose their jobs by May when the plant in Antioch is shut down. The announcement this week came three weeks after the bankrupt company was bought by Owens-Illinois Inc. of Ohio and Consumers Packaging Inc. of Canada. Some workers may be able to get jobs elsewhere in the Owens company, which owns manufacturing plants in Hayward, Oakland, Tracy and Los Angeles. But there are no guarantees of employment, the company said.
