13 Gang Members Arrested in Raids
Police arrested 13 suspected gang members on weapons and narcotics violations in an early morning raid this week that spanned four cities.
About 100 officers from seven law enforcement agencies made the arrests Wednesday after serving search warrants at 21 residences in Stanton, Anaheim, Garden Grove and Buena Park, according to Lt. Ron Wilkerson of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department. Police seized nine firearms and an undisclosed amount of narcotics, Wilkerson said.
The raid is part of an investigation into the New Year’s Eve death of Andrew Vasquez, a 19-year-old suspected gang member whose body was found shortly after midnight with a gunshot wound to the head, Wilkerson said. No arrests have been made in the case.
