A Very Mooo-ving Ornament

No matter how well it’s landscaped or maintained, sometimes a yard, porch or patio needs a little extra something to catch the eye. A lawn ornament can provide that perfect finishing touch to a yard or garden, and what could be more appropriate than a contented cow or two “grazing” on lush summer grass?

An ideal project for the entire family, this fun and easy pull-apart cow requires just one 24-by-36-inch piece of particle board and two pints of paint. It has only four pieces in all. Do-it-yourselfers simply trace the parts onto the particle board using full-size patterns, cut them out with a jigsaw, paint and assemble, then add a cow bell, eyes and other finishing touches.

Held together by a series of interlocking slots, the cow is designed to easily disassemble and store flat. It can also be dressed up for the holidays. The assembled pull-apart cow measures about 30 inches long by 10 inches wide by 18 inches tall.
