Pact OKd for Expansion of Police Dispatch Office
Citing the need for more radio-dispatch space, the City Council has approved a $72,780 contract for remodeling part of police headquarters.
The contract, awarded to EMS Construction of Anaheim, calls for expanding the existing dispatch office. Public Works Director Ismile H. Noorbaksh said the expansion will give communications and dispatch about a third more room than they presently have.
Like most Orange County cities, La Palma will soon be shifting to a more high-tech form of radio communication called the 800-megahertz system. Noorbaksh said the remodeling work will accommodate the new system and equipment.
