AARP Offers Driving Classes for Seniors
The American Assn. of Retired Persons offers a driver improvement course for seniors 50 and older this month and next.
The AARP’s “55 Alive” Mature Driving program gives participants “a good refresher” to driver safety, said Harold F. Muraoka, assistant state coordinator. After passing the program, seniors who qualify may receive a discount on their insurance coverage.
The two-day classes are popular, and some locations have a two-month waiting list, said Muraoka. The cost of the course is $8, and a certificate will be given to those who complete the program.
The course will be held at the following locations:
