Corrected Reading of Data Indicates Global Warming

Scientists have been uncertain about whether global warming is occurring because satellite measurements of the upper atmosphere have shown some cooling, while ground-based measurements have shown the reverse. Now, two Colorado researchers say the satellite measurements have been read wrong and that they, too, show a warming trend--strong support for global warming.
In the March 13 Nature, climatologists Kevin Trenberth and James Hurrell of the National Center for Atmospheric Research report that instruments were not correctly recalibrated when researchers shifted from older satellites to new ones. Once the proper calibration was performed, the satellites indicated a warming trend.
