Senator’s Son Fined $50 in Fatal Accident
The son of a U.S. senator was fined $50 last week for his role in an auto accident that left a Texas couple dead.
Timothy Chad Hutchinson, the 22-year-old son of Sen. Tim Hutchinson (R-Ark.), pleaded no contest to driving left of the center line and operating a car whose tire tread had worn thin. He was also ordered to pay $100 in court costs.
Hutchinson’s car crossed a highway during a storm Oct. 31 and hit a car carrying a family to a funeral. A tractor-trailer then hit the two cars.
Jack Clinton Watlington, 69, and Reba Beavers Watlington, 66, of Center, Texas, were killed. Their son was injured.
Hutchinson suffered a collapsed lung, a bruised heart and broken ribs.
