A Comerica bank branch reopened Monday, a week after a shootout in which four people were killed, and customers were waiting when the doors were unlocked.

First in line was Denise Boyce, who said she was glad the bank opened because many people depend on it.

Some residents of the neighborhood disagreed. “They ought to wait a little while longer and let people grieve and get over the shock,” said Cathy Black.

Allen Griffin, described as despondent over marital, legal and money problems, killed three people and injured another during a rampage at the bank. He was then shot and killed by police.
