2,300 Lose Power After Crew Cut Cable
More than 2,300 Los Alamitos homes lost their electrical power Tuesday afternoon after a construction crew accidentally cut underground cables.
About 1:30 p.m., the crew severed cable while digging near Katella Avenue and Los Alamitos Boulevard, said Tom Boyd, a spokesman for Southern California Edison. About 2,375 residences were affected, Boyd said.
For most customers, the power outage lasted about an hour.
